JR Whitsell has been appointed to serve as the Vice Chairman of CCA Maryland’s Habitat Committee. JR, who owns Jigged Up Customs, has been a long time supporter of CCA Maryland and a committed volunteer to supporting the growing habitat efforts across the state. His Jigged Up Customs business (www.jiggedupunlimited.com) is a local Maryland jig and tackle company that makes quality hand made freshwater and saltwater gear.
“It’s a tremendous honor to serve as Vice Chairman of the Habitat Committee,” said Whitsell. “With the committee’s willingness to continue creating new habitat and by working closely with our national habitat program, the Building Conservation Trust, I’m confident our combined efforts will continue to make great strides for CCA and our Chesapeake in 2017.”
In his role at Jigged Up Customs, JR prides himself on only selling the best quality and most customizable gear possible for fishing the Chesapeake Bay in any condition or season. He brings this work ethic to CCA Maryland’s growing habitat program. JR has helped spearhead several efforts within CCA that have included tournament organizing, banquet planning, and countless hours helping students build reef balls that have been deployed on CCA’s Tilghman Island reef site.
